Y6 Computing
Year 6 used iMovie to create documentaries based on the Battle of Marathon. This gave a great purpose to their history research and literacy speeches, while building on their computing skills using green screen, film, audio effects and visual effects.
Amazing us with their coding skills, the Year 6 children created sophisticated, interactive games using the Scratch programme. Developing complex scripts for two sprites, the children debugged their programmes and tested them to ensure that there was a measure of challenge to their game. They also added a score board and sound effects.

Our Year 5 Work...
Scratch Programming
The Year 5 children explored Scratch by creating an algorithm for working traffic lights before using this to make their program.
Once they had produced their sprites and costumes, they were ready to generate a script using a variety of ‘control’ and ‘look’ commands. After debugging their programs and testing that they functioned as they had intended, the children tested their program with a friend. |
