Y6 Design and Technology
Air Raid Shelters
The children were challenged to work in pairs and design an air-raid shelter which was ‘bomb’ proof (tested by means of a 1kg weight), wind proof and water proof.
After carefully planning the shelter, considering the best materials, shape and structure required, the children set to work creating their shelter. The task required great team work, imagination and communication.
After rigorous testing, the most robust shelter was engineered by Kady and Ruby!
